Medcare Introduces Teddy B Well to the community !

Medcare's lovable character- Teddy B Well has come to life. Long admired as part of our logo-Teddy B Well is now a life size bear that is bringing smiles to area children.  He's already made appearances at our 1st annual resource fair and numerous community events around Houston.  Teddy B Well's role is to bring a beary special message of health & safety to children.  Look for more bear sightings in 2010!  If your organization would like to book Teddy B Well for your event- give us a call.

Medcare nurse selected as Top 10 Nurse in Houston! 

Congratuations to Tammy Jones, LVN for her selection as one of Houston's top ten nurses from the Houston Chronicle. This dedicated nurse was honored at a special luncheon and recognized in the Chronicle for her compassion and committment. We're so proud Tammy is part of our nursing team and are thankful for the selfless devotion she and all our nurses give to our clients.

Register now for Reading Rangers & Pencil Pals!

If your child's teacher has mentioned your child is behind in reading or is struggling with handwriting, we have a program that can help you. We're now registering for several special programs including Reading Rangers & Pencil Pals.  Reading Rangers is a program benefiting children who are having reading difficulties.  Pencil Pals is a great program if your child is having trouble forming letters or is avoiding handwriting.  Both programs are offered at our Stafford Outpatient Center in a series of sessions that can be arranged around your child's schedule and activities. If you think your child could benefit from any of these programs, give our Special Programs Director a call- Macanda Block ext. 145.

Love & Logic Parenting classes now offered 

Open to the public- register now!

Medcare is now offering a nationally renowned parenting course to it's families and the community. Becoming a Love & Logic parent is a well respected parenting & discipline method whose success stories have been featured in the national media.  We're pleased to support our area families by offering this course. The 10 course is offered in a series of classes that are convenient to your busy schedule. On site therapy services available at Childcare Centers !

Did you know that our therapy services of PT, OT, and SLP may be available on site at your child's preschool or daycare? We have a team of therapists out in the community who make 'house calls' to families' homes but they can also provide care at contracted preschool centers. If you'd like the convenience of having therapy at your child's preschool call our home therapy department @ 713-779-9300.
